SMS Singapore: Increase Subscription with SMS Campaign

There are so many magazines out there, online and offline. As a reader, you are spoilt for choice. As a publisher, you are out of your wits trying to increase your subscription numbers.

We all know about circulation numbers, published copies, subscription numbers, readership numbers.
We all know that except for the number of copies that is published (physically) and the subscription numbers, circulation and readership numbers are just numbers in the sky.

When you want quality readers and thus a foothold in the business, you want good subscription numbers.

The traditional way to getting subscribers via the inserted forms in the publications/magazines is still there but in today's world of speed, it is too cumbersome.

Together with an online marketing campaign, our client managed to increase 20% more subscribers within 30 days when they launched a SMS campaign concurrently.

A SMS was sent to readers who aren't subscribers with a limited time offer and a web link (mobile ready) to the subscription page.

The cost of the SMS Campaign? Just SGD0.015 per SMS sent!

SMS Marketing: Reaching Out to More Customers

Think marketing campaigns are for companies with huge budgets?
Think again.

A local food outlet in a neighbourhood area, wanted to let known its speciality... the Singapore Chilli Crab, to more food lovers. We designed a location targeted SMS campaign to smartphone users above the age of 16.

The response was excellent and they sold out crabs almost everyday!

Think location based SMS is expensive? Yes, if you are using the telco services. At between SGD0.15 to SGD0.35 per SMS, it will definitely cost (pun intended) a dent in your budget.

Think location based SMS + targeted age group is difficult to get? Not really, if you are considering using our services.

Our rates ranges from just SGD0.02 to SGD0.10. Affordability at its best.

SMS Marketing: Increasing Customer Loyalty

A hotel group used SMS Marketing in selective locations and targeting at selected list of customers to increase customer loyalty.

A SMS with a promo code for either a discount off room rates or a free dinner was sent to a selected 3000 customers over 5 locations at the same time. The response rate was around 12% to 25% and this built customer loyalty while increasing revenue for the hotel group.

After this campaign, there were requests from other customers who were  not in the selected list to be included in the next campaign.

SMS Marketing: Using SMS to Reinforce Customer Loyalty & Promote New Products

Using both traditional media - TVC, Radio, Posters as well as online - Facebook, Twitter, Banner advertisements together with a selected list of customers via Push SMS, we were able to help our client achieve their objective of promoting their new products as well as reinforcing customer loyalty in their latest marketing campaign.

The client, in FMCG, has a huge customer base from their staple products. However, the new products they were rolling out is slightly different from the past. Thus, before they went into the actual launch, they wanted to test it on existing customers as well as the general public who might be interested.

A Push SMS was sent to a selected list of customers (smartphone users only), with the link to register for a sample of the new products. Over 15% of the customers requested for the sample compared to just 3% responding to click-through banners and emailers.

This proved the effectiveness of SMS Marketing as people find it a convenient and fast method of getting things done.

SMS Marketing: A Useful Partner

Using a combination of marketing tools together with SMS marketing, a marketing manager can easily achieve his or her marketing objectives.

An example is a website looking to attract users. This client wanted to be low key and yet wanted to grow their user base. When they came to us, they had only around 200 users. Just by tapping on these 200 users, we managed to grow the user base to more than a thousand within 3 months.

What we did was a combination of emails, SMS marketing, fax, direct mailers and events.

SMS Marketing: A Case Study

One way which companies can avoid SMS spamming is to combine traditional marketing with SMS marketing. This method ensures that consumers' privacy is not infringed upon and yet achieves a greater marketing push for customers to respond.

A burger store could perhaps advertise on various outdoor platforms such as billboards, posterboards, vehicles or even on the TV. What interested customers need to do is to SMS a code back to the burger store. The burger store will then send an immediate reply via SMS to the customers, a redeemable code for freebies or special offers at the burger store.

The chances of such a campaign becoming viral is quite high as codes will be shared among friends as well as on the social networks.
